A Game of You
Stepping out of the shadows of an alley, Azazel looked back to Valefar just a moment to check if he was ready. Azazel nodded slightly before looking upwards, eyes mostly closed. He took in a deep breath and focused his thoughts, clearing out all the background noise. He was searching for Gabriel, trying to find the strong impression the angel would leave on the cosmic background noise of this world.
His steps came with a slow stroll out of the shadows as he looked to Azazel. A smirk on Valefar's lips as he tossed the dead cigarette aside and just nodded lightly to Azazel's check. Just a mental notice to tell him he was ready.
Azazel was about to give up, unable to pick him up, thinking maybe he had left town after all, when he felt something very faint, yet familiar. He wrinkled his brow. Very odd...
His hands in his pockets as Valefar's head seemed to lower slightly. Eyes closed now as he focused on blocking out the noises that
filled this human world. Looking for the one angel that need to be found. Yet no trace could be caught. He was ready to call it quits or try hard, but his
answer came with a faint trace
Gabriel was being hard to pick up, but he was out there.
Azazel lowered his head and opened his eyes. "This way... do you notice he feels odd too?" He asked with a smile. "Something's up."
Valefar's face cringed lightly in confusion at the felling. Something seemed off with Gabriel as he stood there. His eyes opened slowly as soon as Azazel spoke. His head raised lightly with a nod. "Yeah. Rather strange if you think on it." He said raising any eyebrow lightly. But something in his gut only told him it was a good thing on their part. "I wonder if the traitor's with him." He smirked. The thought of revenge seemed so sweet right now, but to pull such a thing would only screw their plans up. "But I'll leave that be to another time." He spoke slowly as he looked around.
"Well, if the traitor is with him, it will be a sweeter deal." Azazel said as he started off down the road. "Inevitably, they will come after us, we can just be prepared for taking that traitor out first." A cruel smile crept across his face. One of hell's own having gone over to aid Gabriel was unspeakable, he took it as personally as Valefar did. The chance to bring hell's justice to the turncoat was something he was looking forward to. No official call had been put out to bring down the traitor, but that was just a matter of time. Eventually, Azazel was sure of it, Lucifer would put out the call to kill, once the revenge with Gabriel was out of his mind. The laws of hell dictated that any fallen angel that aligned with even an angel out of grace was instant death. There was no trial, no chance to plead a case, it was a given. It was rare, but when it happen, the traitor had already sealed his fate. The formality of calling a hunt on him was just that, a formality, usually no harm befell anyone who took the opportunity to kill a traitor before a hunt was called. The only time it would be iffy was if it was one of the princes, and Cornelius wasn't a prince, so he had no worries. Azazel hoped to run across Cornelius, possibly getting him first would find them favor with Lucifer.
That smirk lay bleeding across Valefar's lips. His blue eyes only looking to see the blood that he would make sure that fallen angel would feel. To carve across the flesh and torture him to hear him scream. To wake when he passes out crying out in pain for that God that long since abandoned them when the humans were created. A set law within hell. Alliances among the angels even out of grace was instant death. So destruction would be quite a blessing if Lucifer gave those words. He would hunt him down. Rip his wings out. Make sure he couldn't fly again.
Eyes glance both ways as he looked for some sign of life. His fingers ran through the thick black mane that fell around his human
features. Even for being a Duke, he could careless how high Cornelius was to him. A traitor was a traitor. That's what made it all the more better in
killing. The rush of power was what got him when he killed one higher then him. A pleasure to do such a thing.
He was wrapped up in his thoughts as he rounded a corner and was hit full force with Gabriel's presence. It may have been a funny background noise, but once close enough, that powerful angel was impossible to miss... unless he was being sneaky, not wanting to be found, but it was obvious that Gabriel wasn't trying to hide... thankfully, he was impossible to find if he didn't want to be found. Azazel stopped in his tracks. Something still odd about the angel's presence. He smirked and look to Valefar.
"Gotta be in there..." He said nodding towards a club.
The essence that Gabriel seemed to hold only feeled him as it lingered over his thoughts. Something was wrong with the situation of feelings. But to put his fingers on it seemed nearly impossible. His hand slipped back in his pocket, eyes of ice blue raising up to look to Azazel. He nodded. "Seems so. Lets see what God's little messenger is up to this evening." A smirk spiraled viciously across his lips as he slowly started to walk over to the club. Eyes glancing to the line as he cut in. Looking to the bouncer as he simple acted as if to slip a couple of buckets in the guys pocket. "We've already paid and were over age." Was all his words seemed to hold as he passed the thrust hold. Eyes glancing inside the club as his eyes adjusted to the lighting of the club. "Do you see him?" He asked lightly looking around slowly.
Azazel looked around the crowded club. It took a moment, but he spotted Gabriel over at a table with Eloa. He smiled wickedly and looked at Valefar. "He's drunk." He said. "They both are. Oh this is too perfect. His reaction times will be way down. We should have the girl killed before he even knows it."
Valefar couldn't hold back the actual joy when he heard those words leave Azazel's lips. "Your kidding me?" He asked looking to spot the two angels. He could seen the oddness now. Gabriel was drunk alright.
He turned quickly and headed back out of the club. "Let's get this going before he decides to sober himself up. We'll need to keep this small, the girl will be too alerted if we storm in there with a lot of demons, but you have at least one other ready to watch our backs?" He paused near the door, turning, waiting for Valefar.
"Good." A smirk fell upon his lips as he turned a few minutes later behind Azazel. He moved to catch up lightly as he managed to get the last few words. "I should." He nodded lightly as his smile finally dissipated. Catching up with Azazel now.
His moved to a stroll once he came up beside him. "He should." A nod came. "Hopefully no one else is watching over the girl. Lets get over there then." He nodded. He found it easier to bend the rules. He didn't feel like walking. With in a matter of seconds after stepping in the shadows, he disappeared only to reappear on the street where the girl lived. "Now which house." He spoke lightly looking around for a moment.
Azazel followed Valefar quickly, keeping pace with him. When they arrived on the girl's street, he stopped next to Valefar, looking around. "It's the house with the most 'energy' coming from it, Dipshit." He grumbled and headed for Catylina's house, slipping straight from the street into her bedroom.
She was sound asleep, in a deep sleep, on her bed.
Valefar shot a glare towards Azazel. "Fucker." He muttered to himself once Azazel disappeared, he only followed shortly behind in to the girl's room. He raised his eyebrow to what lay within the room. It always made him curious with what humans keeped within their rooms.
Azazel smiled slightly pulling out a dagger. He looked to Valefar. "Who wants to do the honors?" He asked.
Valefar's eyes looked to Azazel. "You do the honors. You seem so smart to know what your doing." He only commented lightly as he moved retrieving his spade ready to take a blow after Azazel.
Catylina's eyes moved slowly. Dreaming it seemed as she lay a rest. Deep in sleep after the days long events. From dreams to nightmares, the shift was so sudden. So quick. She felt almost cold as she shifted lightly in her sleep. Waking only slightly as she slipped under the covers to keep warm before blacking out again. Not even noticing the dark auras that lay within her bedroom at that very moment. The nightmares seemed to continue as the feeling of something ominous seemed to slowly over take her. She could only figure the nightmare. But it seemed to get stronger as if it was beyond her control.
"Lovely..." Azazel said and moved over to Catylina's bed, poising the dagger above her heart. "Keep ready for the aunt, she'll scream and might wake her... I hope..." He leaned over a bit. "Scream loudly, my dear." He whispered hoarsely.
Valefar rolled his eyes lightly but accepted it. A smirk only in agreement to his words. "She better, or I'll make her." He smirked viciously as he awaited to hear that bleeding cry that was like perfect music to his ears.
Catylina's nightmare only seemed to get worse as she lay in her sleep. But her eyes instantly snapped open as she heard coarse whisper. She hoped it was a nightmare. A figment of her imagination. Her eyes lay looked on a figure that lay leaning over her. Her breath heavy as she felt the aura's now more as she lay awake. She didn't know to play it off like a dream start or to actually scream. 'Where's that coin?' She felt herself plead in panic as she felt her hands move besides her body. Feeling the chain finally but she didn't want the tip of that dagger in her heart just yet. Her fingers rubbed over the coin. 'Shit. What the hell was it he told me?' She could feel herself panic violently.
Valefar's eyes moved slowly as he walked over to the bedroom door. His hand went to the handle to pull the door open. He was more then ready to go after the aunt himself instead of waiting for the startling scream to walk the old woman up.
Azazel had a panicked look as Catylina pulled out Gabriel's sygil. "Shit." He hissed and looked over to Valefar, quickly
turning back to Catylina.
He began his downward motion with the dagger.
Catylina's fingers rubbed against the coin. Her breath heavy. She tried to focus but in a state of panic screamed out. "GABRIEL!" She need his aid as she moved to leave her bed. But it seemed to late as she watched that point come towards her. And she knew that this might just be the end of it all.
Valefar looked back as she screamed the archangel's name out. Panic felled him, his head turned around as he hear her aunt come to her niece's aid. Valefar rose the weapon up in hand. Ready to get rid of the aunt as he moved to open the door. To see the frightened woman.
Azazel seemed to snarl. He ended up missing his mark as he quickly shot a hand over to Catylina's mouth, covering her to keep her from
screaming for Gabriel. He was too late and his dagger nicked Catylina's chest, deep enough to hurt her much, but only cutting her flesh.
He pulled back the dagger, hand leaving her mouth, as he went for it again. He could not fail, who knows what would happen if he did.
The moment Gabriel appeared in Catylina's bedroom, he took in the entire situation at once. Azazel poised over Catylina with a dagger
about to sink into her heart, Valefar ready to quiet Haile. Within a blink of an eye, he moved across the room, grabbing Azazel away from Catylina.
'Shit!' He suddenly thought as Azazel was violently jerked away from the girl. 'I didn't mark her!' He didn't even want to think of how messy this could have been if Catylina hadn't woken and called him before Azazel was able to get that dagger in her. He threw Azazel out of the way.
Gabriel then whipped around to face Valefar, realizing at that moment he had appeared with wings out, his sword also visible. Haile was in view, fear in face as she saw all that was going on. It was too late anyway, she'd already seen way too much before he had even appeared in the room.
Azazel tried to finish before Gabriel arrived, but Gabriel responded too quickly. Before he knew it, Gabriel had pulled him away and flung him aside. He hit the wall with such a force, the world around him spun violently. He caught sight of the archangel before blacking out.
Catylina fought against Azazel as she tried to scream again. Mouth covered as her voice was muffled. Yet she still tried. Squirming under his touches as she saw the blade come down. She closed her eyes tightly as she felt the blade nicked at he flesh. It hurt as she moved to get away. Her eyes watched as the dagger drew back. Fear bloomed in her as she fought to get out of the situation she was in. Her eyes looked to Gabriel as he flung Azazel across the room. Her own instinct getting her out of bed. A scream leapt pass her lips as she bumped in to something. Fighting only noticing the calming peace. Her eyes looked with fright to Eloa who appeared and glanced to see another angel, yet with a dark aura. 'What was going on?' She panicked in fear as she saw her aunt in the door way. Frozen to the situation that was presented before her.
Valefar looked to Haile as then glanced at Gabriel. He moved taking the woman from the throat. The spade was sharp enough to even slit the poor woman's throat. His eyes watched Gabriel and then glanced to Catylina. He noticed her eyes looking startled as she looked to her aunt. He played the sharp edge of the spade near Haile's throat. "What's wrong Catylina? Afraid to loose another 'loved' one." He smirked with a cruel laugh as he seemed to press the spade edge against the woman's skin. Holding the pressure rather well. But a step from Gabriel would only get the woman killed.
Gabriel's breath was coming deeply now, it had been a night of emotional upheaval, the recent events had his mood still in a very set
frame of mind, he was ready for a fight.
Haile was being held fast by Valefar, he could tell by Valefar's posture was was ready to strike at the least provocation. He weighed his options. He could get to Valefar, even if he killed Haile, it would be no issue, he'd get her back, but he wasn't sure that was the best move at the moment.
Eloa moved quickly. Taking hold of the girl as she started fighting her. "Catylina." She spoke softly. The girl didn't seem to hear. The fight wore on until the girl realized the angel. Eloa moved lightly taking the girl in her arms as she looked to see Haile trapped in the middle of it all.
Valefar's eyes lay to watch Gabriel as he held the woman tight. Not letting his hold fail him at the moment as he kept the edge to her throat. Feeling the woman stop breathing as the pressure of the edge became dangerous with each breath of anxiety.
Eloa's eyes looked from Valefar to Azazel. Keeping a close eye on him as he held the girl in her arms. The girl lay frightened not just for herself but her aunt as well.
Gabriel looked back at Catylina a moment, then to Valefar and moved towards Catylina, if he could just wait out Valefar for a few moments, he figured he may get antsy in a moment and do something stupid.
Lucifer was waiting just beyond sight, just a moment away from earth where Valefar, Azazel and Gabriel wouldn't be able to see him. He
knew this would go wrong, because he knew there was no way that Catylina could be killed tonight.
Carefully, he slipped himself into Catylina's room right behind Gabriel. He set his hand on Gabriel's shoulder. "Well Messenger, unfortunately I can't let you save this girl..."
Gabriel turned as Lucifer entered the room and placed a hand on his shoulder, wildly looking at him. The situation had just gone from bad to worse with his appearance. "No, oh no, not you..." He groaned. "All of you, get out. You know damned well to stay out of this."
Azazel came around shortly after blacking out. Through his disoriented state, he saw the room had become a bit more crowded. "Great..." He mumbled.
The only thing that passed Lucifer's lips was a soft chuckle. Gabriel's frustration was showing; which in itself was highly
However, what ever happened tonight; Lucifer knew the outcome was not going to favor him. He did have to try though. It seemed like going through the motions but he couldn't let that dictate him. He had to give his best effort to stop Gabriel.
"Hell will not stand idly by and let heaven save these humans." He growled at Gabriel. "They are my domain and I will not let you interfere." With that he tightened his grip on Gabriel, pulling him forward to him.
Valefar watched only to see Lucifer appear. "Shit." He cursed softly near the human face as he held her at strength. To frightened and stunned the woman nearly passed out. His eyes looked to his arms as her weight seemed to nearly become dead. She was still maintaining a conscience state but wasn't really there. He could feel it. He knew it well as he held the woman captive. "Shut the hell up!" He yelled at her as he pushed the edge closer to her throat. She was just pushing him farther. He wanted to gut her clean open. And the screams that she now gave off only add to his enjoyment. A bad thinking because he knew he would slip up. This time he wasn't going to fail Lucifer.
Not knowing exactly what to do, Gabriel looked around quickly in confusion. Too much was happening, too many were at risk. Haile in
danger, Catylina in danger, and no good distraction to make an opening for him to do anything.
As Lucifer's grip tightened on him, he resisted as he was pulled closer. "They are not your domain, Lucifer, they are their own, you can not interfere with them." He growled as he quickly got a hold of Lucifer's arm, pulling himself free.
Lucifer said nothing as Gabriel freed himself from his grasp. Though a frown did come to his face as Gabriel tried to move out of his way. Reaching out, he grabbed Gabriel by the wing; once again drawing him back. The chaotic situation was coming full force but Lucifer remained calmly poised during it all. One hand reaching into his pocket, the other having a firm grip on Gabriel's wing. The horrid sound of breaking bone filled the space as He broke Gabriel's wing, his other hand extracting something from his pocket as Gabriel was completely distracted by pain. He smirked a bit as he brought his other hand up, jamming something into the top of Gabriel's wing where he had broken the bone; embedding it deeply. "Heaven holds no place for angels with broken wings." He whispered hoarsely into his ear. Lucifer pushed Gabriel away with a laugh, Gabriel slamming into the wall.
Azazel took this moment, when everyone was distracted, to quickly move from his place on the floor. Lucifer was watching him out of the corner of his eye. He knew they had failed and had only one chance in Lucifer's eyes to salvage this situation at all. And Azazel was taking that chance. He quickly moved over to Cornelius. "Cornelius, he of the horde of hell, fallen angel under the command of Lucifer, be you bound by Malache Gabriel, I order you to submit to me." With that, he took Cornelius by the arm and disappeared for hell.
As Gabriel went full force into the wall, he noticed Azazel taking Cornelius away. Cursing himself for failing yet again, in the middle of
this situation, which could result in utter failure, if he didn't do something and fast.
He spun himself around before anyone else could get behind him, an intense pain now shooting through his wing. He closed his eyes a moment. His only hope to save Haile at this point was to distract Valefar so that Eloa could get the woman out of the way. The only way to distract Valefar without having him harm Haile was to focus on Lucifer and put Lucifer in danger.
Gabriel took in a deep breath and pushed forward towards Lucifer, dagger in hand, grabbing Lucifer by the hair before he could get away. He shoved the point of the dagger up under Lucifer's chin. "Call him off or I kill you." He growled.
Lucifer laughed. "Oh you wouldn't kill me, Messenger." He said. "You'd be in so much trouble." But despite his warning and confident tone; a bit of doubt was creeping in as the point of the dagger was pressing even harder, breaking skin. Was Gabriel just crazy enough to actually kill him?
A brutal smirk feel across his lips as the blackened shadows only added to his cruel enjoyment. He moved pushing the human forward against the blade of his spade. He could hear the young girl scream out. His eyes looked to the angel and girl. Bloodshed was bloodshed to him. A form of art. Now for the girl. That was all he need. Execution of the human child and this would all end. His eyes watched as he let Lucifer have his fun with Gabriel. Azazel had taken off with the traitor but either way, he would try and end this. His eyes only stopped as the woman lay bleeding and alive. His eyes looked to Lucifer as he watched Gabriel. He wasn't going to let this happen again. He moved towards Gabriel instead of the girl. Spade raised in hand.
Catylina gave a high pitch scream when she saw her aunt. She fought Eloa to get free to her aunt that the fallen angel had killed. A stupid mistake as she broke past the angel's arms to aid her aunt. Whether the woman as alive or not, Catylina need to be beside her. The coin lay still in hand as she looked to Gabriel. She heard the sick break of a bone. Her breath seemed to loose rhythm of natural calm formation. Only becoming ridged and fast. Worried it seemed and scared as her eyes looked to the fallen angel that came at her.
Eloa's eyes only narrows to Valefar as he took the woman's life. But to hold the girl back was getting hard as she fought her. She tried to hold her as she broke free. Her eyes turned suddenly to Gabriel. She heard the sick crack and Lucifer's words. Her eyes widened. "Damn it." She let out. Lucifer broke Gabriel's wings. She was alone in this one if Gabriel let the pain get to him. But he some how managed to gain strength to fight. Her hand reached out to grab the girl. "Come on." She let out as she pulled the girl with her. She need to aid in the woman's problem. Valefar had slit her throat. But not enough to kill her. Eloa could see that now as she moved forward towards the woman. The girl fighting behind her. She could feel the child's anger but only pulled her with her by force. She moved Catylina around the woman. She wasn't letting the girl out of her sight. Not until the Sigil was marked on her anyway. Her hand moved to easy Haile's pain as she breathed in a brushed her hand slowly across the woman's cheek. She could feel the sudden pain that took place in her neck and throat. She felt like she couldn't breath as she took the pain on to her. But she need Raphael to hell the woman. Especially now.
"Call him off!" Gabriel growled again as Valefar started for him. He was perfectly willing to kill Lucifer.. at least mostly, to
accomplish this, then deal with the fallout later. Killing Lucifer could lead to his own fall, but he was willing to risk that at the moment, besides the fact
he didn't have to completely kill him, just get him to the point of the brink of death and stop there.
Valefar was getting closer and closer... Gabriel waited until the very last moment, when Valefar was about to send his spade slicing through him, he ducked down out of the way, pulling Lucifer to the floor with him, Valefar missing him by just a fraction of an inch. The air moving sharply above them as the spade nicked him near the temple.
When he and Lucifer hit the floor, Gabriel quickly moved over him, putting his weight on Lucifer, and grabbed Valefar by the leg, jerking him downwards too. His knee was now in Lucifer's throat, keeping Lucifer restricted.
"You..." He whispered hoarsely to Valefar. "I will kill in a heart beat. You and I have a score to settle over Uzziel, and hitting me with that bloody spade earlier. You I will tear apart piece by piece and listen to you scream and beg for mercy. And there is no one in heaven that will stop me."
Lucifer squirmed under Gabriel's weight. He didn't remember Gabriel being that heavy.
As much as he doubted that Gabriel wouldn't kill him; he didn't doubt that Gabriel would kill Valefar; Valefar didn't have a mark not to kill like he did. Lucifer's only hope was that Valefar would keep Gabriel distracted enough to allow himself to get free. He tested Gabriel's weight and balance a little... surprised as how steady the archangel was. He figured with the alcohol and what he himself had done; Gabriel would be a little more unsteady.
Eloa's eyes raised up. Grabbing Catylina by the arm and forcing her down. "STAY HERE!" She nearly yelled at the top of her lungs. She was trying her best to get her voice out, but with the pain she felt. It was hard to manage. She moved slowly A she looked to Gabriel. A dizziness ran over her as the pain slightly blacked her vision for a moment. She could barely speak. "Stay with her." Was all she could say at the moment as she took hold of her staff. She need help in this. But Gabriel looked pretty set when she looked up. Eyes set with Valefar on the floor. Lucifer under Gabriel's knee. All she could hear was that stupid laugh Valefar was giving off. It made her cringe as she moved slightly. Not knowing whether or not to aid Gabriel.
Gabriel heard Eloa's scream when Valefar's spade was coming at him, looking at her out of the corner of his eyes, but not allowing himself to be distracted, he hoped that she could manage with the pain she looked to be in. He knew just by looking at her she had taken Haile's pain in order to help save her, probably the best thing Eloa could have done for the woman. And for him, any help was a great deal of help, whether knowing Haile was in less pain or if Eloa could find an opening to aid him directly.
Valefar laughed harder then ever as he lay on the ground. His insanity showing past everything that always covered it now. He was insane to say the least. Most had feared him for that. Especially in heaven with the shit he pulled. "Then you better make it hurt." Valefar let out as his booted foot when to Gabriel's chest. Ready to hit hard. He was looking to pull a surprise attack on him now.
Valefar's insane laugh grated on Gabriel's last nerves. It was probably the worst thing he could have done for himself was laugh
at Gabriel, it made Gabriel want to kill him even more.
The closeness of them all, Gabriel didn't notice Valefar's foot coming towards him until the last moment. The force knocked him back, shifting his weight off of Lucifer's neck as he fell, but he did manage to fall with an elbow into Lucifer's stomach.
Valefar took a good aim when he watched Gabriel fall back. A smirk on his lips as he watched the archangel. His eyes looked to the girl that lay with Eloa. Eyes set more on her then on Gabriel. But he was trying to aid Lucifer in freedom from the restrictions of Gabriel in this fight. Next he was going after the girl.
Eloa looked over to Valefar as the fallen angel rose up to go after Catylina. Even in pain, Eloa held a job and if it meant fighting until the end then she would. She moved taking her staff, and without noticed tripped Valefar to get him away from the girl. She moved raising her staff to hit him in the shoulder. If she numbed it, she could get his spade from him. She could hear the hiss, he had shifted from her staff as the hit went to his shoulder. Eloa moved raising her foot up as she kicked him in the face. "Screw off!" She let out as she used her foot to push him back.
Valefar felt his body move back away from Eloa and the humans. A hiss passing his lips as he got up to his feet again. Know he knew why Azazel disliked her. He could see now the reason after the trip. She was a rough fighter. A spitfire in her actions. His eyes watched as she kneeled down in pain. Hand at her throat.
Gabriel hit Valefar over the head with the broad of his sword after Eloa had distracted him. He had a goofy grin on his face as suddenly
he dropped from sight as Lucifer pulled him down by the back of his jacket. "Damn it!" He screamed as he fell.
He just hoped he hit Valefar hard enough to at least put him at a disadvantage for a moment.
Lucifer grabbed Gabriel as he hit Valefar with his sword, pulling him down. He was a little pissed that Gabriel had sat on him and had elbowed him when Valefar had kicked him off. "Watch your game, Messenger..." He growled as he pinned Gabriel down.
Valefar blacked out as he felt the hit. His body collapsing under his own weight as he hit the ground.
Eloa looked up to Gabriel and nodded. Her eyes looked back to check if Haile was alright. Her hand moving as she ripped her shirt at the rimming about an inch up. Her hands moved as she placed her staff down and moved to push the cloth against the woman's neck. Her hand grabbed Catylina's. "Hold it there." She could barely speak now as she used Catylina's hand to apply more pressure to the opened wound. Eyes looked back to Gabriel. Her vision was threatening to give out on her.
Valefar managed to wake up slowly. Head dizzy and spinning in confusion. He lay disoriented for a moment before realizing what had happened. He groaned slowly as he moved getting up to his knees at least to find Lucifer getting the best of Gabriel. "Little shit." He hissed out. Now he was just getting pissed off. After the hit from Eloa and then form Gabriel, it only added to the rage. He rose up slowly to regain his feet again. Spade in hand. "I swear." He shook his head as he looked Lucifer. Wanting to just take a hit with his spade a Gabriel now that Lucifer had a good hold on Gabriel.
"RAPHAEL!" Gabriel screamed then smirked at Lucifer.
Lucifer saw what Gabriel was about to do, call for Raphael, but he was just a moment too late when he tried to get his hand over Gabriel's mouth. "You little bastard..." He growled at Gabriel.
Valefar moved to take one last swing at Gabriel as he heard Raphael's name. "Shit." He let out. He still brought his spade down for a blow to Gabriel. He wasn't going to let this get away from him.
Within seconds Raphael appeared in the room, wide eyed. He looked to Gabriel a moment, then to Haile and Catylina, then to Eloa. His first thought was to Eloa though, she looked well on her way to passing out and Gabriel was going to need help. Haile was slowly losing her life. Raphael started towards Eloa, needing to get her sorted out so he could concentrate on Haile.
Eloa could barely see as she stayed kneeling beside the two. She heard the call, but her mind stayed focused on Haile. Lingering slowly near the edge of death as it drove at the woman. Eloa was the only thing that kept the woman from suffering in pain.
Catylina only listened to Eloa as she tried her best to aid her aunt. She was worried as her eyes looked up to Valefar and Lucifer. Their aura's strong and the sight of such black halos only made her cringe as she maintained pressure on her aunt's throat as it slowly bleed.
Raphael kneeled down by Eloa. "Just relax..." He said softly putting a hand over her throat where the pain was centered washing away as much of it as he could. He then slid around to Haile. "Move your hand." He said to Catylina.
Eloa relaxed as she was aided to first. Feeling the warmth that incoated her neck and throat. She coughed lightly before moving away and nodding. "Thank you Raphael. I've got this." She said softly.
Gabriel pushed Lucifer off to the side a bit, freeing one hand. He reached up and stopped Valefar's spade with the flat of his palm
just inches away from him. "Raphael! Stop fucking around with the human and banish them!" He yelled. "That's why I called you!"
Raphael looked up at Gabriel's yell, absolutely torn. He hadn't even thought of it, so concerned over the pain and suffering, but out of grace, Gabriel couldn't banish the fallen angels to hell. "Bloody hell..." Raphael mumbled. Haile was going to die and Gabriel was never going to win against the two fallen angels in that position. He honestly didn't know what to do.
Eloa moved quickly. Still in pain, but under control. Eloa rose up and took charge after Valefar. Her staff moving and hitting him up in the side. A hard crack could be heard as she watched the fallen angel pull away from Gabriel in pain. His own hand dropping the spade as it hit the ground. Her hands moved twisting the staff lightly before permanently knocking Valefar unconscious. A loud crack could be head from where her staff hit him upside the head.
Valefar struggled to bring the blow down as Gabriel blocked it. Eyes set on just getting rid of him that he forgot about Raphael and Eloa. He felt the hit as his hand released the spade. A hard cough came from him as he felt the broken rib puncture his lung. Hard the hit was made. She was good. His eyes looked to move but only received a harder blow to the head that made him pass out instantly.
Gabriel watched as Valefar fell, dropping his spade, and now out of his line of sight, he saw Eloa there, her staff swinging again to hit
Valefar in the head.
"That's my girl..." He mumbled glad to see her at that moment.
Lucifer was coming back around at him again though, regaining his balance.
"Raphael!! Once again!! Banish them!" He yelled. He didn't know what Lucifer would do now, cornered, with the entire hordes of hell at his disposal, he didn't have to run, he could easily call up enough defenses unless Raphael banished him. Lucifer took Gabriel by the throat, shifting his weight back on him.
Catylina felt the fear surge in her as she moved her hand for Raphael to aid to her aunt. She could see his halo. Warm and clear like the others. Not diluted by cruelty or evil. But pure and sincere.
Raphael looked up from Haile. He bit his lip then stood. "Lucifer, Prince of Hell, I Raphael, of the order of Seraphim, in the name of the Lord God Almighty, order you to leave this place and banish you to the depths of hell." He said firmly. But nothing happened. Lucifer was still there.
Lucifer let himself smirk as he was able to regain himself and get a hold of Gabriel again. The last thing he wanted right now was Gabriel
thinking straight, so to distract him he took him by the throat.
His features darkened as Raphael gave the command for him to leave, smirking a little as it didn't work.
"Uh..." Raphael made a face. "Gabriel, could you concentrate... I know Luc is kind of chocking you and all, but I need a
line open here... He can't hear me..." Alone, Raphael couldn't banish Lucifer, he'd need at least Michael here to help him, unless Gabriel
could get him in contact with Him.
Gabriel's eyes looked over to Raphael. "Now..." He said.
"Lucifer, Prince of Hell, I Raphael, of the order of Seraphim, in the name of the Lord God Almighty, order you to leave this place and banish you to the depths of hell." He repeated. This time it worked, Lucifer looked up at him with a glare as a bright light filled the room, and he was gone.
Lucifer was about to call up some reinforcements, when Gabriel was able to focus and Raphael was able to banish him.
Gabriel sighed with relief when Lucifer disappeared.
Eyes looked to Gabriel as she rested upon her staff. Her eyes looking down only to Valefar to make sure he was passed out. Making sure he wasn't pulling some sort of trick, but her sign came went blood started coming from his head. She looked to Raphael and Gabriel as Lucifer took chance of opening opportunity. Grasping the archangel by the throat. She moved to attack but let Raphael do what Gabriel asked as she moved lightly. Nervousness appeared across her face as nothing happened when he banished Lucifer the first time. Fear bleed in to her eyes before it was tested again with the line to someone in heaven lay open. And then he was banished. Her eyes only accepting the light.
Catylina watched in just awe as Lucifer disappeared. Her hand had slipped back to still apply pressure to her aunt's throat as Raphael
did his duty. Her eyes only looking down to her aunt as he brushed some strands from her eyes and the rest back.
"Now... keep that line open a few moments more, so I can get Valefar too." Raphael said.
Gabriel looked over to Valefar. He didn't want Raphael to banish him, he wanted to torture the fallen angel. He had a score to settle with him, now that he had a hold of him, letting him go seemed a shame.
Eloa's eyes looked to Raphael. She was ready to send Valefar back to hell. A little nusence this one seemed. A little off his rocker as well. But that was her own opinion. Her eyes looked to Valefar and then Gabriel. A simple shake came. No of discipline or anger. But understanding. "He'll be given his punishment. If this serves me right, something tells me Valefar will get a very crude punishment." Her eyes looked back to Valefar. "Its not your job to judge the angel. He fell, well then let him fall." She spoke lightly looking up as her wisdom came past her drunken effects and pain. "He'll get what he deserves and He will make sure of that." She said as she nodded up to the heavens above. She rose slowly. "Lets just get him out of here for now. He'll be suffering later from the blows I brought upon him anyway." She moved slowly to go watch over Haile.
Gabriel sighed and nodded. "Go ahead, Raphael." He said. "There's no interference now that something isn't trying
to kill me."
Raphael nodded slightly, a quick look back to Catylina and Haile to make sure Haile was still all right, then he began again, banishing Valefar to hell.
After Valefar was gone, he went back over to Haile and gently moved Catylina's hand again. "I imagine Valefar is in for a very
painful waking soon." He said with a chuckle as he placed a hand over Haile healing over Valefar's handiwork.
Gabriel sighed as he absently stared in their direction. "Well, I should have given him a knock or two.. I had a hold of him, and I did promise for Catylina he'd get his justs for what he did to her parents." He said.
Eloa moved slightly. Looking to Gabriel with a slight nod. She knew he would get his time. Instinct one could put it. It wouldn't be by the hands of an angel. Maybe man or God, Himself. She wasn't really sure. But she knew for sure it would come from another source. She looked over to Raphael after Valefar's body vanished. Eyes looking to Catylina and then to Raphael. "He will. Believe me he will." She said with a light smirk. Now see could feel the drinks hit her. Not the dizziness but the side affects from drinking. She closed her eyes for a moment as a yawn passed her lips. Her hand falling over her mouth. "Sorry." She spoke softly afterwards.
Eloa moved slowly away to Catylina's bed to sit on for a moment. Her eyes looked over to Gabriel. "I know you promised. But at the time she wasn't marked. You need to mark her before doing anything else." She spoke lightly as she moved disassembling her staff to put it up.
Carefully he stood up and moved towards them. "Besides, all this is my fault, I should have not forgotten to put a mark on Catylina, they would have not tried anything if I had." He kneeled down beside her. "The best protection I can offer you is to mark you so that should you be killed, your soul won't leave your body for three days." He explained. "That may not seem like much, but if you have that mark, no one from hell will mess with you because I can resurrect you. Well I can resurrect you at any time, but trust me, you wouldn't want to be after you've spent three days in heaven. Also, since I'll have my name on you, I get to go after anyone who even tries to touch you, and they normally don't like me after having resurrected a human then hunting them down, puts me in a bad mood..." He leaned over and touched her forehead then smiled at her. "After thousands of years, Hell has given up even trying to play games with someone who bears the mark of an angel, they've had me and Michael chase them down far too many times."
Eloa watched as he walked over to the girl. The child given a strong fright from the events that just took place and the life nearly lost in her presents. She stood up slowly as she put her staff up. Letting it evaporate into nothingness before walking over to the group.
Catylina's eyes raised up to look to Gabriel and Raphael. She could feel a fright that washed over her before feeling only the comfort of the angels that lay around her. But she could still feel a trace from the fallen that had attacked. Her heart still racing as she held her aunt until Raphael attended to the woman. She seemed to fall in to a calmness as she cried gently. Yet now no sound left her as she just let Raphael do what he did best. Her eyes looked over to Gabriel as he spoke to her. A bite came to her lip in thought before she looked over to her aunt then Gabriel as he spoke. A nod came from her head. "Alright." She said slowly as her hand ran her hair back from her face. Strands of varies lengths crowned her features as she bit her lip lightly. She wanted the in marking. It would make it harder for hell to attack and after that experience, she didn't want it happening again. Her eyes looked down to her top. A little blood stained from her own wound, but nothing that was fatal or could cause her body harm. A sense of joy and relief washed over her as Raphael spoke those words.
Raphael looked over at Gabriel out of the corner of his eye. "Haile is fine now." He said standing." And she won't remember any of this. Now, the three of you stay here until I get back." He picked up the unconscious Haile and took her back to her bed.
If there was one truly annoying thing about Raphael, it was his inability to banish something to somewhere that made sense. But at least
he had gotten the hell part right. Somewhere in hell... well, it looked like hell; one could never tell when Raphael did the banishing. It was possible that it
wasn't hell, just looked like hell.
Lucifer looked upwards. The familiar feel of hell washing over him. "Ayup, it's hell." He said with a grumble and began the attempt to figure out where in hell he was, even Lucifer wasn't sure what part of hell he was in.
Valefar woke up. Head killing him and his breath shallow as his eyes opened to waves of black and white until the colors smashed together. His vision was slowly returning back to him as he looked around. Feeling hell's aura wash over him. His eyes closed and he groaned. "Fucken bitch." He let out in curse as he rose to his knees. His hand nursing his cracked skull. He could feel the break alright. Now he had to agree with Azazel on that angel. She had fire in her to even take such a hit. Not just one broken bone but two. He breathed in heavy as he felt the broken rib that punctured his lung. Slowly rising up to his feet, head killing him. His eyes opened to hell finally as he looked around. Trying to figure out where he was for the moment at least.
Gabriel watched as Raphael left the room with Haile in his arms. He sighed remembering his own pain finally. He stood himself up. "They'll leave you alone now." He said a bit wearily and looked to Eloa. "Wonderful job you did there, Eloa..." He smirked at her. "You're all right, yeah?"
Raphael slipped back into the room quietly. He looked around a moment, hoping he wasn't disturbing anything, finding he wasn't. "Let's have a look at you, Catylina." He said kneeling down beside her. "Oh you're fine. We'll just take care of that cut, you'll never even remember you had it." He gently put his hand over the cut on her chest and it was gone in moments. "All better?" He asked as he stood back up.
Catylina nodded lightly to Raphael's question. The wound didn't sting anymore and she smiled gently. "Thank you." She said lightly. Fatigue washing over her. Telling her that sleep was needed.
He looked over to Gabriel and Eloa and shook his head a bit. "Now, you two are trouble together, I can see..." He tried to sound as if he was scolding, but his hint of a smile said otherwise. He handed Eloa a small bottle. "Drink that." He said. "It'll help start making the alcohol go away."
Eloa's eyes looked to Raphael as he spoke. She felt her eyes fall to the ground. She knew what she did wrong and now was feeling the guilt from it as she looked to the bottle handed off to her. Her hand took the bottle as she pulled the cap off it. "Bottoms up." She said lightly raising it slightly before drinking it down. A bline taste seemed to feel her senses. Not the sense to throw up but just getting sink as it raised the alcohol from her system. She gagged lightly before looking to Raphael. "Thanks." Her face cringed as she felt the alcohol burn out of her system.
"Now... Gabriel... you are a different matter..." Raphael said turning his attention to Gabriel. "What have you gotten in
"You don't want to know..." Gabriel said with a sigh as Raphael gently turned him around.
Raphael began pulling out the feathers in Gabriel's wing around where Lucifer had broken his wing. Gabriel cringed a bit at every
pull, not from discomfort, but from Raphael's almost careless way of taking care of him. Raphael stopped, then dug his fingers into the wing. He made a
face, then yanked back his hand, pulling out a small cylindrical metal object, with razor sharp barbs on it. Raphael shook his head as Gabriel gritted his
teeth. "How ever did you not pass out with this thing in you?" He asked.
Raphael pulled out a pair of syringes from his coat pocket, one empty, one full of a clear liquid. He pierced the syringe into Gabriel,
drawing out a little blood. After taking it out, he put the other syringe into him. "You see..." He said in a clinical sort of voice. "Gabriel
has a bit of a problem.. a blessing in certain situations, crap doesn't flow through his system very quickly. So... being this thing that Luc pushed into
him contained poison, paralyzing poison, it didn't get through his system fast enough to effect him... however, on the other side of the coin, means I have
to play musical chairs with his blood in order to get something into him to wash it out..."
"Shut up, Raphael, you aren't on rounds here." Gabriel grumbled.
Her eyes raised lightly looking to Gabriel as Raphael took aid to the archangel. She moved lightly as he spoke of Catylina. "Come child. Lets get you some sleep." She spoke gently as she lead Catylina to her bed. Putting in to the girl's already tired mind, the function to sleep. "Rest well little one." She said as she watched her fall asleep rather quickly.
"Can't do anything about the alcohol yet." Raphael said softly. "Gotta get the poison out first." He put away his 'tools'. "Can you put the wings away?" Gabriel shook his head no. "Can you slip a plane for me?" To this Gabriel nodded. "Good. It's time we leave Catylina to some sweet dreams and get you two feeling better as well."
Eyes looking over to Raphael. "Shall we head out then?" Eloa spoke lightly.
Raphael smiled at Eloa and nodded. "Off to Chloe's store, then, keep up Gabe." He said tugging on Gabriel's sleeve.
Gabriel took one last look back at Catylina, sound asleep, knowing she was going to have good dreams tonight, and double checking... fear that he did something wrong, but he didn't, everything was fine.
The three then disappeared from Catylina's room.
Once back at the store, Raphael sighed. He had put Uzziel out before leaving, now it was time to put out Gabriel. Sleep was the only thing that was going to help him right now, as well as Eloa, however, he wanted to speak to Eloa a moment... alone.
Of course he had to trick Gabriel into it. "All right, Gabby, let me have a look at that wing, see if it's clearing out." He pulled some gauze out of his pocket as he turned Gabriel around, dabbing lightly at the wound. "It's slow going, but I think it's working..." He said. Before Gabriel realized what happened, Raphael carefully brought his hand around, touching his forehead, and putting Gabriel into a deep sleep. He caught Gabriel as he slipped into unconsciousness, carefully setting him on the couch, arranging him on the couch in the best possible way.
He looked over at Eloa. "So..." He said. "What happened tonight? I know Gabriel got you drunk, but I get the feeling something more happened..."
Her eyes looked over the sleeping girl as she looked back to Raphael and Gabriel. Ready to go anytime they were. Only to find herself within seconds at Chloe's store. She brushed her fingers lightly through her locks as she looked to Gabriel. Then looking to the back room to find Uzziel out. Her eyes only caught Gabriel passing out now. Raised lightly. She wasn't by the fact of wanting to sleep. But the thought of meditation came to mind as she looked to Raphael who looked to her after placing Gabriel's slumbering body upon the couch.
Her eyes watched him as he spoke. Could she answer his question that he presented to her. She moved lightly as she took a seat at the table. Eyes looking for a moment to the direction of the shelf. She already gave herself away with the daunting silences that came from her. "Yes." She answered slowly and cautiously. Eyes looked to him. "Why do you ask?" She asked gently. Not crude, but just mere curiosity that seemed to blend past the fact of wanting to know. She moved slowly leaning her arms on the table as she looked from Raphael to the books with in the store. 'Such vast knowledge.' She found herself thinking lightly.
Raphael had a look of worry on his face, Eloa's demenour was worrying him.. "Gabriel is... odd when he's been drinking." He said with a sigh. "I worry when others are around him, I really do. If he hurt you, I swear I'll kill him. There's no excuse for how violent he gets."
Her eyes looked to him as she laughed lightly. "Nothing of the sort. Though he did get a little out of hand, but I managed to subside it on my own terms." She spoke lightly. "But lets just say he got me a little pissed off." She spoke simply as she leaned back in her seat. Eyes looking around before coming back on Raphael. "He had to take care of me most of the time." She said laughing lightly. "Lets just say I won't be having a drink for another few hundred years." She said lightly.
"I might as well confuse to what I've done. I sort of started the club on fire. Not by matches, by anger one could say." She spoke lightly. "But nobody was hurt if that's what your thinking." She quickly corrected herself. She moved lightly leaning forward again.
Raphael leaned back against the couch, a confused look slowly creeping into his face. "Well..." He said softly after she had
finished. "I can't say much for starting a fire, it's not my call, but it does worry me that he got out of hand." He paused a moment
wondering what trouble Gabriel had gotten himself into. "I figured no one had gotten hurt, I'm sure I would have heard if someone had. I doubt they
will be too tough on you about it all though..." He paused yet again. "As long as you are sure that Gabriel was on his best behavior...
which I know is a bit different than most people would call good behavior..."
It wasn't that he didn't believe Eloa, it was that he wasn't sure she wasn't playing it down a bit. Raphael knew very well how Gabriel could be, he didn't want her taking any fall for anything Gabriel had done.
A light nod came from her. "I prevented him from killing a human, lets put it at that." She said lightly as she finally felt comfortable in her seat. Her eyes drifted over to Raphael. "Gabriel was only protecting me was all. The boy was getting a little to brash with his actions of advances. I kept turning down his drink offers and his question to my phone number. He got aggressive about it and Gabriel stepped in." She spoke lightly. She was keeping the fact about them kissing out. "He turned and hit Gabriel and well things went spiraling down from there. After that, well I started the fire." She said lightly.
She moved slowly as she looked to the back room. "How's Uzziel doing?" She asked softly looking over to Raphael. Her head seemed more clear then before. She could think more coherently now. Her eyes slowly drifted back to Raphael for a few seconds before Uzziel.
Raphael resigned himself with a sigh, he knew he worried too much, he knew he tended to make mountains out of mole hills, he knew he should stop, but it was tough. He nodded to her. "Uzziel is fine." He said. "After Sophiel annoyed him to the point of nearly strangling him, Soph left and I made him rest a bit more. He needs to remanifest still, but other than that, he'll be his normal, moody self in no time." He straightened himself up. "Get some rest, Eloa, I'll stop grilling you." He said. "I'm sorry, it's just that I worry so..."
A soft laugh left her as he spoke of Uzziel nearly killing Sophiel. A smile came to her lips. "At least that's good to
hear." She spoke gently as she yawned softly. She looked to him and nodded. "Don't worry on it Raphael." She spoke gently now as she rose
"Don't leave it to him. I know that you care so much. He knows you do to. But sometimes you need to give it to him in order to let some sort of comfort be felt." She smiled gently. That wisdom shined through again. A bit of a human touch seemed to appear in her words as she nodded her head. "Thank you again Raphael." She spoke as she turned around from her chair after pushing it in to find the corner she had been meditating in earlier. She was sleep and rest while she meditated.
She moved taking her place against the wall. Hands in her lap of her folded legs as she let out a couple of breaths to relax her thoughts and prayer started once again. Her mind whisked away as she recited pray after pray. Only finding that peace as she seemed to fall in to slumber with.
Raphael smiled a little half smile at Eloa as she moved off to get some rest. Leaning back again he looked over at Gabriel. He reached over and smacked Gabriel's booted foot. "You're trouble, Messenger." He mumbled. He lost himself in thought for about two hours when he was interrupted by the presence of Michael nearby. "Come on, Michael... no looming..."
Michael obliged Raphael's request, pushing open the door to the store. He stopped near Raphael, looked over at the unconscious
Gabriel, then a quick look over to Eloa. "I take it they are resting?" He asked. It was mostly a rhetorical question, he could see that they are.
He tried to ignore the look Raphael was giving him. "Well, I've been instructed to speak to her..." He looked over to Eloa. "Whenever you feel is best."
A deep breath could be heard as she held it a while. Two hours had only pasted, not enough rest. But something startled her from her sleep. Not the presences of the angels but of a revelation that seemed to burn in her mind. Her breath seemed slightly ridged as she opened her eyes. It wasn't rare for her to have them. Or at least that's what she thought. A sweat seemed to light coat her skin as she moved her hand from her lap to the floor to keep her from passing out. Her other hand went to her head as she tightened her eyes.
Divine as it may seemed, it always worried her. These revelations only showed present and future times. Never did it seem to reveal the memories that lay locked away forever in her mind. She opened her eyes slowly and finally as she felt the echo of the vision shake her for a moment. She took a couple more breaths to regain herself composure before she returned to her meditation. She calmed her thoughts again and only seemed to slowly sink back in to her meditation.
Michael's attention turned to Eloa when her breathing changed. He raised his eyebrows and looked at Raphael. "Well... maybe not right now..." He said.
Raphael started to move towards Eloa, but stopped when Michael looked at him. He grimaced a bit. "She's all right." He said softly. "What was it you needed to talk to her about?"
Michael shook his head at Raphael. "Nothing much." He said. "But since you have Gabe out, someone had to be sent down... I wouldn't worry about. I just wanted to make sure she was feeling okay first. She very much needed her rest. I can wait."
Raphael looked over towards the door. It would be morning soon, in another few hours. He couldn't be here much longer. He had duties he had to perform. He looked back over at Gabriel. "Well, Gabriel should be awake soon, he's been out for just over two hours now, that's a long time for him." He said. "I would suggest that you not be here when he wakes, he's probably not in a good mood with you right now."
Michael raised his eyebrows. "He's never in a good mood with me." He pointed out.
Gabriel let out a yelp as he woke up. Raphael looked over at him disinterested. Gabriel never woke up well.
"I should kill you, Raphael..." Gabriel grumbled.
Raphael smirked at him as he straightened himself up. "Get up, Gabriel, let me see how you're doing."
Gabriel struggled himself up as Raphael carefully took his wing. "Oh doing quiet well..." He said absently then suddenly snapped Gabriel's wing, breaking the bone again. Gabriel bit through his lip holding back from making any noise. Raphael then mended back together the broken bone. "It hadn't healed right, the bone was off. I had to do it..." He said. "Otherwise, how are you feeling?"
Gabriel sighed as Raphael backed up. "I'm fine." He said gruffly. "What's Michael doing here?"
A couple more minutes seemed to fully pass before her breath seemed to change rhythm. She breathed out slowly as her eyes slowly opened. Her head pretty clear the when she was drunk. A light headache seem to occur as she stayed in her position for a few more seconds before fully getting up. Raising up slowly after uncrossing her legs as she stretched lightly. Her throat and neck still holding a light ache, but nothing serious as it seemed to slowly dissipate in her waking moments. Her hands ran slowly through her curls as she looked around. Noticing Gabriel up. Her eyes only drifted to Michael and Raphael before looking away and shaking her head lightly to still wake up a little more.
Gabriel stared at Michael and Raphael suppressed a laugh. Raphael was trying to think quickly on how to separate the two when Eloa stirred. He looked over to her with a 'how are you feeling?' look in his eyes.
Michael tried to ignore Gabriel staring at him, he really just wanted to get this over with and get away from Gabriel. As if his unasked request was answered, Eloa came around from her meditation. He shot a nasty look to Gabriel before turning his attention to Raphael and Eloa.
Her eyes looked finally and fully over to the others as the blue lay bright in her eyes from the dark brown they were usually in her human
form. She only nodded lightly to Raphael's look as if to say 'alright.' But nothing seemed to pass her lips. She was curious as if to why Michael
was here. "Hello." She spoke gentle as she walked over to the group.
"Raphael, go wake up Uzziel and clear out the back room." Michael said. "I will be speaking with Eloa back there... alone."
Eloa felt a little stiff in her arms. But beyond that nothing more then just relaxation and peace that seemed to wash over her. Her eyes looked to Michael as he spoke her name. She felt a little worried now about why Michael was there. Wondering if she did something wrong. She looked over to Raphael and Gabriel for only a second. "Want me to help you Raphael?" She asked gently.
Raphael shook his head slightly. "No, thank you, Eloa." He said.
"UZZIEL!" Raphael yelled. "Wake up and get out here!" Raphael had a mischievous look on his face as he yelled.
A smile only slide across her lips as her answer came with a yell for Uzziel to walk up. She nodded lightly. "Alright." She said lightly as her hands slide in to the pockets of her jeans.
As Uzziel groggily exited the back room, he ignored Michael, wandering over to the couch and plopping down. Michael looked at him out of
the corner of his eyes.
"You could be a little less loud about it, Raph." He mumbled. "Eloa, I need to speak to you."
No fear seemed to be present beyond that of worry. She felt nervous as to the fact of why he was there. Especially when it came to speaking with her. She nodded her head softly as she left to the back room. She bit her lip as she looked around the back room a bit. Waiting upon Michael.
"Could you be a little less demanding?" Raphael teased. No, Michael didn't seem to be in the mood for it, but he didn't care. "You're just as loud as I am, so don't get preachy..."
Michael just shook his head at Raphael and headed to join Eloa in the back room. Once back there he closed the door. She looked worried, but that wasn't his intention.
Eloa turned to Michael as he closed the door.
"They sent me down because Gabriel was out cold and couldn't talk..." He said not letting too much time pass to create an uncomfortable silence. "Basically, we wanted you to know we are very pleased with all that you have done this passed day. Even though you had that little... incident in the bar... but we'll deal with that later. However, you're duties here are done, you may return to heaven at your leisure."
She felt her body relax as she heard those words. She let the silence slip by as she listened to the message that Michael need to deliver to her. A smile came to her face as she nodded. "Alright." She felt rather glad that she had done her job well even with the incident that occurred in the bar.
"Thank you Michael." She said with a nod. Her eyes seemed to shift to the dark brown.
Gabriel sat back down on the end of the couch, lightly kicking Uzziel with his foot. "Want me to listen in?" He asked.
Raphael rolled his eyes. "No Gabriel, no listening in." He said. "Keep out of trouble for a few moments at least."
"You're no fun." Gabriel grumbled.
Michael noted the shift of color in Eloa's eyes. He was a bit perplexed by this. "Is there something wrong?" He asked. "Something that you feel needs further doing here?"
Eloa looked to him rather curiously as he questioned her. "Nothing that I know of." She answered his first question. But when the second came she need to think. She need to weight what lay around her as she moved lightly. Taking a seat at the table that Uzziel had laid upon for his slumber. Leaning forward with her arms leaning on the surface of the table.
"Something's going to happen." Was all she could say at the moment. "Something big. But it won't be for a long while. But I know its coming." Could she even explain what lay in her vision with out looking somewhat crazy. Only one angel knew of her visions. And he lay up in heaven. An good friend to her. He could only listen as she spoke of them. But it had been a while since she last spoke to him. Her revelation had revealed something that she couldn't explain. Human events that would lead to their highest destruction. But she couldn't seem to spill it out. "They're not going to even know it happened." She said referring to the humans. She seemed to show a perplexity within her own features as she spoke.
She moved slightly leaning back. "It has more to do with the humans then heaven and hell. That much I do know for sure." She spoke gently as she shook her head. "I don't mean to burden you with my pity problems." She spoke lightly waving her hand slightly in the air. A smile seemed to cross her features again.
Michael listened to her concerns brought by her vision. He nodded and then sighed. "Well..." He began not quite knowing where he was going himself. "I'm not utterly surprised to hear that. I've also learned to trust those who catch glimpses into the future, I've never known an angel who has them to be wrong." He thought for a moment, it wasn't really a situation for him to make a decision in, however, no one had specified that Eloa had to return immediately. "Contrary to what Gabriel may tell you, I'm not totally heartless." He continued.
Eloa's eyes never lifted for a moment of him as she leaned back in the chair and crossed her arms. Listening rather well on his words. A smile came to her lips. "I wasn't told nothing on that." She said lightly.
"Take your time down here, you needn't return right away." A small smile crept across his face. "Besides... I have a plan." He turned for the door and opened it, motioning to her to join him in the other room.
A nod followed, "Thank you." A smile seemed to lay painted on her face still as she spoke. Gracefully and gentle it seemed. She tilted her head lightly to the side as she heard of a plan Michael held. A little perplexed reaction showed in her features as she looked to Michael. She stood up and followed him to the door and out of the room.
"Gabriel gets a talking too as well, this might just work out." He said making sure that he kept a serious look on his face, he stopped in front of Gabriel. "Well Messenger... it seems you have exceeded expectations." He said. "Not enough, of course, but heaven certainly is pleased at what you have done.
Gabriel narrowed his eyes as Michael stopped in front of him and spoke to him. He wasn't surprised that they considered it all a job well done, well, maybe a little, he had screwed up a bit, but in the end, he knew he had done what had been the unspoken part of the order from the night before. No matter what, protect that human at all costs, in earnest, no apathy towards her.
"Now, if you'd like to make your case even better, you'll make sure Eloa is safe as long as she remains on earth, until she feels ready to return to heaven." Michael paused a moment letting it sink in and to get a message up to heaven without Gabriel knowing it. He nodded when he received his reply. "She is being permitted to stay here as long as she feels necessary, and since she is not often to earth, you'll serve her in anyway she wishes." He knew Gabriel would not react well to being told to serve anyone, but it would be more than interesting to see him do it, and Michael had a feeling he would do it. "Do whatever she asks of you, and protect her with all that you have. If she is harmed in any way, you are responsible."
Gabriel nodded when Michael ordered him to make sure Eloa was safe while on earth, that wouldn't be too difficult, he enjoyed her company. However, the order to serve her wishes made him narrow his eyes even more. He didn't say anything, but you could almost feel the hatred at being told to do that. He looked over to Eloa. Michael's unspoken words here was to give himself whole heartedly to making sure that Eloa was safe and her needs met. Not out of duty, but really meaning it, honestly caring. It was what they had been wanting him to prove for a very long time. "Fine, Michael." He said with a sigh.
She found a place amongst the group against a bookshelf as she leaned against it. Arms still crossed over her chest to hear what Michael had to say to Gabriel and herself Only knowing that he was filling Gabriel in on her decision to stay on earth. Her eyes seem to shot to Michael as he spoke of Gabriel serving her. That she didn't expect. He had truly caught her off guard as she looked back to Gabriel and Raphael. Gabriel would be under her serve instead of her be under his. This was a change in rank and scale. And she held no place in heaven beyond that of a mere angel. She really didn't expect the fact of Gabriel being under her services. She was going to have a hard time with that one. She wasn't use to such responsibility. But since it was already said and done she could do nothing to take it back.
Again he paused, he wasn't sure why, but looking at Gabriel sitting there, and all he had done in the past day, Michael was almost proud of him for the first time in a long time. "I think you showed it, Gabriel." He said softly. "It was what we were looking for 27 years ago, and you finally showed it. Keep it up."
She could only feel herself fall in to silence as Michael congratulated Gabriel on what he had done so far.
When Michael spoke his final words, Gabriel was taken off guard. He didn't let it show, but for just a moment, he wasn't irritated
with Michael, because Michael wasn't irritated with him. He looked to the floor a moment, then back up, his expression didn't change, but Michael
knew... he was actually happy to hear that.
Raphael shifted a bit uncomfortably. Finally, he spoke. "All right, I have to run. Everyone's doing all right, yeah?" He asked.
Gabriel nodded. "Ayup." He said. "I promise to not call on you for a very long time, Raphy." He said. "No more patching us up."
A nod slowly came from Eloa as she smiled. "Thank you again Raphael." She smiled. That drink had helped clear her head a lot quicker then just a regular fix of sleep could even do.
Michael knew better to say anything at the moment, or even stay any longer. Dawn was breaking outside, it was nearly 6:30, and both he and
Raphael had things to do. "Well, I need to go as well." He said almost a bit absently, turning and leaving.
After Michael had gone, Uzziel laughed. "Oh, you're going to mess this up, Gabe." He said.
Gabriel sighed and frowned at Uzziel. "Shut up..." He grumbled as he smacked Uzziel on the arm then sighed.
Eloa laughed gently as she watched Gabriel and Uzziel after nodding her good-byes to Michael and Raphael.
"Well, it's Sunday morning... there's one logical thing to do this morning. I haven't missed a Sunday mass yet..." He said.
"Morning mass sounds rather welcoming." She spoke lightly as she looked to them.
"Certainly should be at the least, non-violent." He said with a hint of teasing in voice. "I hope." He stood himself up, grabbing Uzziel by the sleeve. "There's a very nice cathedral a few blocks away, if you're in the mood for a catholic service." He said. "I prefer them... but it looks like the decision is up to you." A bit of mischief crept into his face as he said that, not meaning to be malicious, just his natural tendency to teaser.
Her eyes looked to Uzziel as she moved to straighten up and go with Gabriel to mass. It had been a while since she had been to a church. But they never seemed to lost their beauty or grace.
Gabriel nodded, slipping out of the store the quick way, only to appear outside the beautiful cathedral, the morning sun starting to break on the stained glass windows, illuminating it. No one was there yet, the doors still locked. Gabriel headed up the stairs to the door, as he took a quick turn to see if Eloa and Uzziel had kept up. He stopped halfway up the stairs, looking up at the stained glass window, it never ceased to amaze him how beautiful stained glass looked in morning sun.
Eloa only followed slowly behind. Taking her time as usual. She found herself at the bottom of the steps to the cathedral. Beautiful in all its might. Nothing ever seemed to exceed the fact that its beauty lay strong in such mornings. The stained glass looked amazing as the sun glowed through it. She could feel a warm welcome as she walked slowly up the steps to the doors. "We're coming Gabriel." She said with a light smile.
Uzziel was shortly behind himself. "He's so impatient... always in a rush." He mumbled to Eloa.
"I really don't see why." She shook her head lightly as she walked with Uzziel. Eloa seemed to stroll. Taking her time as she walked. She was in no hurry and she was enjoying the beauty of the cathedral as well as the morning air.
Uzziel shrugged. "I dunno, he knows he has all the time in the world..."
Eloa shook her head with a soft laugh. "To much in a hurry. He needs to stop and just relax for once." She spoke only lightly as they reached the last step to the cathedral.
