I edited out your character because before you start even thinking of making a character, there are a few things that you have to read first. (As
in.... no one gets to be a cherub....) So before you jump in feet first, let us get a chance to know you and have you read a few things.... like the story, and
the rules for start. We can't even start anything until you have access to the private forums on the Resource board.
Also, you messaged Bril 10 days ago about the character and hadn't been seen since then until now. Is this normal? We may be in a slow patch on this story the last few months, but we really don't like to be holding up a story because someone doesn't come around for a week and a half or more at a time. We know that you haven't read the story at all; so before we'll even accept you as a member, we want to know that you are interested in the style of the story we are writing. The story is not about loving and caring and peace and all that. It's rather violent, rather sexual (on that note... how old are you? We have an unofficial over 18 rule that we can be a little flexable on), and it's very realistic, not cartoonish. It makes me a little nervous that you want to join but have no clue what our style is.... |

Kevin did copy the character you posted in our moderator forum, so we do still have a copy of that, by the way.
However, I have to say I'm completely unimpressed with the character that you posted. It seemed to lack any real drive or depth, it seemed very two dimensional. Now, possibly that's because it was a bare boned outline, but what we're looking for is what kind of personality you are wanting to bring into the story. I'll be honest, with the traits you did describe, Gabriel would eat the character for dinner. He'd have no time for that type of character. When I asked that you post here, I was hoping you could give us some insight into the character, not cold facts. Cold facts are fine for the character sheets but not for telling us about the character. Also, as Kevin mentioned, you haven't read the story. We use a tracking site for the board so I can optimize the search engine results, but it also helps us with new members wanting to join so we can see if they are finding information easily or if we have to reorganize the way we have the layout. Both here and the Resource board are tracked. I haven't seen in the logs any that you have even looked in the story's forum, let alone read any of the story. You read the synopsis, but that's not the story, that's the cliff notes of the story. We had a member in the past who didn't bother reading any of the rules or the story before joining and it only created conflict when he drove the story away from the established facts. He didn't read any of the rules on creating characters or familiarized himself with any of the other characters' profiles. We find it very important to know who you are dealing with in this story, we run a lot of characters, especially right now, so knowing what characters are in the story is important. Also knowing the specifics of making a character is extremely important, that's why I asked you post at the Resource board as well so I can give you access to the private forums there. That forum contains the important information like the fact that no one's character can be a cherubim unless you are already established with us and we approve it, as well as important things on what we expect the characters to have in the character sheets, the magic used by angels, the way the characters relate to each other, background information on how things are done (as in how angels do the things they do, where they come from, ect.) That is all very useful information for making a character and a must before creating one. I will admit, we're a bit stuck in our ways, we've been doing this RP for longer than we had the message board, we have a lot of useful information to make things go as smoothly as possible. But our biggest concern at the moment is, as Kevin said, that you haven't read the story at all, so we don't know if you will like our style. It's important that you like the way we run the story and that your character can fit in, otherwise, it's no fun for you and a lot of stress for us, because I don't like having to tell people "you can't do that..."

thank you, I'm not use to this way of writing but I am willing to learn. I'm barely seventeen. I can get on whenever during the week days and sometimes
on the weekends but that all matters if I can bring down the protection system. I am sorry for not reading the story so far, my education can be tiring, but I
can log on when needed so I will read the story and I will and I have posted before on other websites like this so I will try to fit in as well. Thank you very
much.
Truly truly I say to you

Ok, let's try it this way then....
We need to be wowed. We need to know that a character you are wanting to play is something we can all get excited over. We need to know something... anything... that would indicate to us that you have a personality and maturity level that can mesh well with everyone else. We're not feeling that. We're not seeing anything that we all can work with. Can you give us some clues as to why we can all work together... maybe something other than repeating truly truly I say to you? And possibly... what gender of you? We have to keep refering to you as he/she as we don't know anything about you at all... no idea... no personality... nothing...

When you say you're not used to the style, then what style are you used to? I don't understand that....
Do you mean the kind of story? As in that we don't take a peace and love and everythng's good tone to the story or do you mean the play by post way we do it? And if you mean the kind of story, you really can't learn style, style is something that you are, that you like... you can't learn to like it, you either like it or you don't. Saying you're not used to a style but can learn is like saying you don't like a fashion, but will wear it because it's expected of you. Now, if you mean the play by post way we do things, that can be easily learned. And as Sev said, we really would like some insight on to how well you will get along with us. We are very much a group of friends here... a family almost. We don't need to know every personal detail about a person (though I think we do about Stephanie :p ) but we like to interact out of character as well as in character. I suppose you don't have to absolutely do so, but a lot of our best ideas have come from out of character chit chat and the ease in working together that we have has come from being ourselves out of character. 17 isn't too young for us, that's the youngest we will allow in the RP, however, maturity counts for a great deal of it as well. I can not tolerate someone who isn't mature.... we haven't gotten an indication of your maturity yet. We are all in our 30's, the only two members who aren't are not currently posting, but even then, they are in their 20's but very mature beyond that. Now, granted, we're a fairly young at heart bunch (been accused of being immature, but it's not true) but still, we like things to remain on an adult level, especially with the subject matter we deal with, we have to know all members can handle it emotionally.

Well lets see. As a pre-teen I was always interested in Angels and demons, first starting out as a simple fantasy that I use to dream about, but then it grew
into something more. I have become extensive in the knowledge on the Angel-Demon war and I have already come up to having the intellectuality of someone older
than what my body can give away. I have read old poetry such as Dantes Inferno, a classic if I may say so. Paradise Lost was one that really captivated my
attention what with the beginning of the end, as I would putit, when the devil is cast into Hell, his meeting with Sin and how she was created. His son Death,
and the way the bridge that connects the Earth to hell, allowing demons to come and go as they will with little difficulty. The nine ranks of angels are of
course fascinating as well, how each has their own individual place in heaven. Angels, Thrones, Archangels, Seraphim, Virtues, and the rest I cannot recall at
this moment but I will get back to you on that. I can be a wonderful addtition hopefully. As for my personality, i am a person who will follow, but lead when
needed. I have more of a militaristic point of view on life, having both knowledge on tactical battling and discipline, but all in all, I'm a regular teen,
but one that can think with his head, not with what grows between the legs, as most teens do nowadays.

Answering my question is always a start since I'm the person you have to impress the most.
I'm getting sick of playing cat and mouse on this. Sev didn't ask your knowledge of angelology he asked about your character concept and your personality. We've been playing at this for days and you haven't told us a thing about the character and quite honestly, when you give us answers on your personality like you can follow but you can lead is the same thing as when you said the character has a sense of humor but can be serious. That is called non committal and indecisive. It's like saying you like to sleep but you like to wake up. At this point of time, I'm not thrilled with the prospect of letting you create a character for the RP because I don't think you can handle it. You are lacking any motivation and willingness to design a character that fit into the story without becoming a doormat for the characters with strong personalities... which all the active characters have strong personalities. When we ask a question you never really answer which usually shows a lack of interest in the other members or not paying attention to what others have to say. In play by post you have to react off of the other characters, you are not writing for yourself. You have to respond to the others, you aren't doing that. Third, you haven't once asked us on what we are looking for in a character. Which shows disinterest in other people. We have been discussing this, and at this point of time, we all fear that you lack any motivation for creating a character with a personality or any substance to it. And since you aren't giving us anything to work with when we 'talk' to you, how can we know if you will give us anything to work with in the story? The first thing I do when I join a RP is talk to the owner/admins and established characters to see what they expect of me. We spend a lot of time communicating and letting everyone else know what the character is like, what we'd like to do, and what is acceptable to them and how I can tailor the character to that. It's not about me, Sev, Kev, or Stephanie, it's about all of us, it's about the story. That's what the other people in an RP are looking for. Asking questions, learning about the people you will be in contact with and letting them know about your character on a less technical, more personality side, and of course giving them glimpses about yourself. You haven't asked us what we expect of a character at all. We've done all the asking, and you aren't providing any straight answers. I have asked you twice, once in the PM I sent to you, once here, to post at the Resource board. The PM contained the link to the board, which is the board you signed up at for a Yuku account, so you know where it is. You've ignored me both times. Then I asked you a direct question about why this type of RP was different for you, which you ignored as well. Sev asked you to tell us about the character, you ignored that question. I mentioned we need to know a little about the character, you haven't responded. Can you understand why it's frustrating to us? You don't want to give us answers or follow directions. If you can't do that in Off Topic, how can we know you can do it in the story? So.... you get one last chance to impress me and I may let you create a character on a probationary status. I don't like telling people no, but more over, I don't like fighting with trying to keep a story going with a character that can't commit to anything and has no personality.

I'm sorry to ask this but I need a little time. I'm going to be taking the ASVAB and I need to study as well as for the final exams as well. I'm
truly sorry but it might give me time to think as well
